Bioremodelling is a unique, gold-standard injectable skin treatment that uses hyaluronic acid to improve skin tone, texture, and hydration.
Unlike other hyaluronic acid injectables, bioremodelling is not a filler but a bio-stimulator treatment. This means that rather than creating volume under the skin like dermal fillers, the substance disperses beneath the dermis to promote widespread skin health and rejuvenation. Therefore, the treatment is great for people who don’t desire the “filled” look that traditional fillers create and instead wish for a naturally smooth and hydrated appearance.
The treatment is also different from traditional skin boosters due to its unique formula that disperses easily and creates excellent aftereffects through fibroblasts (responsible for collagen production). The specialised treatment has been available in Europe for seven years, with an excellent safety profile, and is brand new to the Australian market.
If you are seeking to boost your skincare routine and achieve healthier, glowing skin, treatments with Dr Shauna Watts on the Central Coast can help you achieve your skin goals.

How Do Bioremodelling Injections Work?
Bioremodelling is a convenient, quality, and minimally-invasive skin treatment. It is one of the most highly concentrated doses of hyaluronic acid (HA) available, infusing the skin with moisture and restoring a smooth tone and texture. HA is a revitalising substance that retains and holds moisture, trapping water inside the tissue cells. It is found naturally in your eyes and joints, which means your body is easily able to absorb and process the substance.
Bioremodelling treatments are different from HA fillers in that the substance dissipates quickly beneath the skin. They do not create volume, but rather, they infuse the skin with hydration and stimulate your skin to regenerate from within.
Unlike regular skin boosters, the substance does not stay where it is injected, but disperses under the skin and stimulates powerful fibroblasts, which are essential for collagen and elastin production (proteins in the skin that keep the tissue strong and flexible). The specially-made formula combines low-molecular weight HA (L-HA) and high-molecular weight HA (H-HA) in a single injection. L-HA stimulates collagen production whilst H-HA retains moisture, and when combined, patients achieve optimised results. Therefore, the unique formula is set apart from traditional skin booster treatments, offering patients an excellent solution to aged, dry, or dull skin.
With age, the skin can become dry and dull, giving way to signs of ageing such as lines, wrinkles, and facial sagging. Bioremodelling treatments stimulate collagen production through intense fibroblasts, promoting skin strength and elasticity.
Treatments improve skin texture, tone, quality, and overall vibrancy. It is an excellent hydrating and anti-ageing treatment option that offers quality, long-lasting results. Suitable for a wide range of skin types, the treatment:
- Creates a smoother, firmer skin texture
- Infuses the skin with lasting hydration
- Stimulates collagen and elastin production
- Promotes deep dermal tissue repair
- Reduces fine lines, wrinkles, and skin laxity
- Brightens, hydrates, and restores the skin for a youthful look
- Creates optimised results compared to traditional skin boosters
Dr Shauna Watts will tailor your treatment to your skin needs and goals in order to give you the best outcome possible. Therefore, whether you wish to reduce signs of ageing or simply restore skin moisture, we can develop a treatment plan that supports your skin’s health and appearance.
Dr Watts aims to create a supportive and comfortable experience for patients. The procedure involves injecting the bioremodelling substance at a precise depth beneath the skin. Due to the gel-like, liquid texture, the substance disperses easily and begins producing hydrating effects. It combines with your natural tissue in order to promote cellular renewal and create natural, lasting results.
The procedure uses the BAP (bio aesthetic point) technique, specially developed for this unique bioremodelling treatment. It involves five injection points on each side of the face in order to allow the best and most uniform spread.
Although this is generally a facial treatment, we can also address other areas, such as the hands, neck, or décolleté. Your clinician may apply different amounts to these areas, if treated. The treatment generally does not take longer than 30 minutes, but this may vary based on your skin needs, goals, and treatment areas. You will be able to discuss this with Dr Watts during your first meeting, as well as ask any questions you may have about your treatment.
In order to achieve the best results, we may suggest several treatments – usually two or three, spaced about one month apart.
Recovery and Results
The procedure is minimally-invasive, meaning there is very little recovery time. You can continue your day as normal, provided that you follow Dr Watts’s guidelines for how to care for your treated skin. Although most patients heal quickly, some slight swelling or bruising may occur. You may need to follow instructions such as:
- Do not massage your skin for the first 24 hours
- Avoid swimming for the first 48 hours
- Do not expose your skin to extreme hot or cold for at least seven days
- Stay hydrated and eat a healthy diet
- Avoid direct and prolonged sun exposure
- Avoid makeup and harsh skincare products
We will instruct you further prior to your treatment session, based on your needs and treatment plan.
The result of treatment is a substantial increase in skin smoothness and quality, as well as deep hydration that lasts for months. After your treatment, the collagen in your skin will slowly increase. As a result, you should see a gradual improvement in your skin’s firmness and overall appearance. Although many patients see results after just one bioremodelling treatment, you will see the best results after subsequent treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is bioremodelling different from filler?
Not to be confused with fillers like dermal fillers, bioremodelling injections act as infusions of hydration. Dermal fillers generally stay in place beneath the skin, increasing facial volume to change the facial contours. In comparison, bioremodelling disperses through the skin, providing a boost in hydration and collagen stimulation rather than volume. This creates both a naturally youthful appearance and improved skin quality at a cellular level.
How is bioremodelling different from other skin boosters?
Bioremodelling injectables are distinct from traditional skin boosters. They stimulate collagen fibroblasts that trigger your skin to regenerate whilst simultaneously helping the skin retain moisture. This is done with a combination of low-molecular weight HA and high-molecular weight HA, which forms a stable complex without the addition of chemical stabilisers. Due to this combined effect, bioremodelling cannot be regarded as a traditional skin booster.
Also, whereas the effects of skin boosters are concentrated close to the injection site, bioremodelling injections are specially developed to disperse widely beneath the dermis. This reduces the number of injection points required, and therefore, patients can experience maximum results with less downtime.
How long will my results last?
Although results can vary based on the patient’s health and the details of treatment, most people can expect their results to last for six months. Afterwards, follow-up treatments can help you maintain the results.
Will I need time to recover?
There is no recovery time required after bioremodelling treatments. However, some mild side effects such as redness and swelling are common. Follow the instructions given by Dr Watts in order to help your skin heal quickly.
